Building a World of Difference: Black & Veatch is Changing the World, One Project at a Time
As one of the world's most successful EPC (engineering, procurement, construction) companies, Black & Veatch has its eye on the future, taking steps to create positive change in the world. In this presentation, Julia Thamann will share some of the company's 100-year history, and how they grew from a small, local firm of 12 employees to a global company with more than 100 offices worldwide. She’ll also share some noteworthy projects, which include ground-breaking new ideas and technologies, and their vision for the future.
Julia Thamann is a project and purchasing manager with 13 years of experience in purchasing and project implementation management, with seven years as direct assistant to the principal. She spent 9 years working in the interior design industry before transitioning to the field of telecommunications where she worked on such projects as a 200,000’ cable installation across ten schools in Fayette County, Kentucky, and a remote wireless AP installation across six Kansas hospitals. Julia is currently managing a portion of the Kentucky Wired project, which is installing 3,400 miles of fiber throughout the state of Kentucky.
