A Look inside the Process: Opening Your Own Commercial Brewery
Speaker: Kevin Richey, owner and founder of Rock House Brewing
Craft beer is a growing segment of the beverage market and Lexington has a new craft beer house- Rock House Brewing. The stakeholders included a collection of home brewers and craft beer lovers, and process has been a labor of love for Kevin Richey as he balances work for Lexmark and starting his own brew pub. Kevin is originally from Chesterton Indiana. He is married with two kids and attending the University of Kentucky. He enjoys hobbies including fishing, hiking, kayaking, golfing, building and remodeling, music, going to concerts/festivals and spending time with family and friends.
His work experience includes Texas Instruments 7 years as Manufacturing Engineer and Engineering Manager and he is currently employed at Lexmark International (19 years) . He has held various positions including Supply Chain Product Planner, Procurement, Product, and Development Engineer. Currently he servers as Project Manager on Color Laser Products. In addition to his work at Lexmark, Kevin is Founder/Owner of Rock House Brewing. As a small business owner you really wear many hats, Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, etc. I was the Engineer and Project Manager for the construction and installation of the equipment. Most of the construction that did not require certified professionals - I actually did myself. This was and still is hands on project!
Kevin holds a Master of Business Administration · Xavier University · Cincinnati, OH, and a Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering Technology · Purdue University · West Lafayette, IN. He also completed his PMP in April 2016, and is certified as a Six Sigma Green Belt, and in Design for Six Sigma Manufacturability, Juran Training, Statistical Process Control, Lean Manufacturing, Taguchi Design of Experiments and 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.
