Join us for our Virtual February Meeting and learn how a statewide project was implemented successfully and is making a difference in Kentucky!
Topic: Implementing High-quality Cancer Care Across Kentucky
Summary: Kentucky has the nation’s highest rates of cancer incidence and mortality. To help change those statistics, the Markey Cancer Center Affiliate Network (MCCAN) was developed through a unique collaboration between an academic medical center and community hospitals. By working together with a common goal of enhancing access to high-quality cancer services and programs, MCCAN is helping to change the narrative of Kentucky’s cancer story. This presentation will provide an overview of the cancer burden in Kentucky, describe the structure and function of MCCAN, explain programs and services available, and highlight prevention and screening programs available through MCCAN sites across Kentucky.
