Content Submission Guidelines PDF Print E-mail

articles.jpgThe Bluegrass Baseline welcomes articles and other content submitted for publication by both members and non-members of the PMI Bluegrass Chapter.  Please note the following process and guidelines for submission.

Content
Newsletter content can be a reference to a project management topical article, a newsbrief on a local training or networking event, PM trivia, or a chapter membership announcement.  Keep in mind that any content submitted should be appropriate and specific to our professional project management functions.  Content should be focused on an audience composed of aspiring, new, and/or seasoned project members.

Deadline
Content must be submitted by the first of the month if it is to be considered for inclusion in the current edition.  Content submitted afterwards will be considered for the following month's edition.

Contact Information
Contact and submit directly to the chapter's Vice President of Communications.

Publication
The VP and the AVP of Communications jointly review, filter, and determine if and when content is published in the Newsletter.  Just because approved content does not make the current publication does not mean it will not be included in an upcoming Newsletter.  The number of articles and other content published each month is dependent on the amount of space available in the Newsletter.  Content considered to contain marketing for the sake of profit or material determined unethical or unrelated to the project management profession will not be published.

Professional Benefit
Not only does authoring and submitting content keep some of your project management skills sharpened, you can also earn PDUs for doing so.  This activity falls under category - 2B.  An author would earn 1 PDU for every hour spent on the article, with a maximum of 3 hours per article.  To learn more, please check out PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements Handbook.  While you are reviewing these requirements, be sure to also review the PMI Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.
